Duct-taped messsages on caps of graduating high school seniors are as common as crying parents and speeches about seizing the future. But at Indian River Central, those personalized notes on caps are not allowed at the graduation ceremony.

Child abuse charges turn to murder charges for North Country man

A horrible story of alleged child abuse in the North Country turned into a case of murder over the weekend. Twenty-three-year-old Jeremiah Garnett of Philadelphia was officially charged with second-degree murder Saturday evening. It was earlier that day when six-week-old Benjamin Jones passed away at Upstate Medical in Syracuse.

North Country man accused of brutally beating six-week old baby

A six-week-old baby is in a hospital this morning, suffering from a brain injury and police say it was caused by a North Country man. Twenty-three-year-old Jeremiah Garnett of Main Street in Philadelphia is charged with first-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
