A Watertown family is being assisted by the Red Cross today after their home suffered water damage. About three quarters of an inch of rain fell in Watertown Wednesday morning, causing significant damage to the home on Mullin Street.

The flooding down in Louisiana has wreaked havoc for residents in the Bayou, and a member of the North Country Red Cross is going to help out. Jane Gendron, the director of the area's Red Cross, didn't head south, though, instead she is in Canada.

March is, among other things, Red Cross Month and its members are asking for your help. There are a number of blood donations scheduled for the North Country throughout the month. In fact, today in Dexter at General Brown High School, there will be a donation opportunity from 8:30 this morning through 1:30 in the afternoon.
