Much-needed finanical relief is coming to Ogdensburg in the form of a grant totaling $5 million, which will go toward upgrading the wastewater treatment plant.

Some financial relief has been set aside for communities dealing with high waters along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.

|Money stolen from thirft store|

Police are looking for a thief who stole money from a thirft store in Jefferson County.
About $500 was reportedly taken from Hearthstone Ministries in Adams.
The money was being collected in a water jug as a part of a fundraiser to help purchase a new facility for the ministry to hold services. The assistant of the thirft store tells 7 News that someone likely took off a deadbolt on a door before breaking in and taking the jug.
State Police are investigating and ask anyone with possible information to contact them at 782-2112.

New York state is about to get $5 million from the CDC to fight Zika. The bulk of it will go to New York City where more than 40 women have tested positive for the virus. The rest will be distributed to other parts of the state. More
