A neuropathologist says Central New York native and BMX superstar Dave Mirra had the same kind of brain damage that has caused problems for numerous football players.
A University of Toronto doctor told "ESPN The Magazine" about the diagnosis. It's the type of trauma that's been linked to dementia and depression.
Mirra committed suicide earlier this year.
Mirra suffered multiple concussions over his career. He also fractured his skull when he was hit by a car at age 19.
Mirra will be inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame this June.
