South Lewis Central District looking at closing two of its buildings

The South Lewis Central School District has called a series of public hearing to discuss an upcoming capital project.

There are two options for taxpayers: 1) use new funding to fix up the Glenfield and Port Leyden elementary schools, or 2) close both buildings and use the project money to add on at the high school, making it a K-12 building.

Residents voted against closing buildings within the district back in 2006.

The first of three hearings will be held at Glenfield Elementary on March 28 at 6:30 p.m.
