Assembly Democrats are looking at charging potential ride sharing users local sales tax.

The Journal News reports that a lawmaker negotiating the Upstate ride sharing bill said they're looking at including sales taxes across the board. He said that it would work just like regular sales tax to ensure that the state and its localities get their fair share.

Lawmakers are hoping to come to an agreement on this by April 1st.
