A 49 year old Adams woman has pled guilty in connection with the theft of her mother's Social Security payments.

Mary Sanford entered a plea in Jefferson County Court Friday to third-degree grand larceny and first-degree identity theft.  She faces five years probation when she's sentenced May 3 as well as expected to be ordered to pay more than $18,000 in restitution. State police said Mary Sanford opened credit card accounts in her mother's name and without her mother's permission, allegedly stealing over $35,000 from her mother over a five-year period beginning in 2009.
