According to numbers compiled by County Health Rankings, Jefferson County is among the 25 unhealthiest in New York.
The rankings are based on the number of residents who said their health was either fair or poor, and with how many days they indicated their overall mental health was poor. Jefferson County was rated No. 22, with 15 people stating they were in either poor or fair health, and residents indicating they had an average of 3.9 days of poor mental health in the last month.
Both Lewis and St. Lawrence counties did not rate in the 25 according to syracuse.com.
