Groups Protest American Health Care Act

Members of several groups gathered on Watertown's Public Square yesterday morning to voice opposition to a new Republican proposal to replace the Affordable Care Act.

7 News reports that the groups represent retirees, nonprofit agencies and health care workers & rallied to urge north country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik to vote against the new proposal. President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress have vowed to revise the American Health Care Act, which was withdrawn without a vote last month. The groups opposing the AHCA, including Planned Parenthood, ACR Health, and AARP, are urging Stefanik to work to fix the Affordable Care Act instead of approving a plan that "would have significant adverse consequences to millions of New Yorkers.
