Volunteers in Chaumont filled 11,000 bags of sand on Tuesday alone, and the fire chief there told 7 News he's looking for help in filling more.
In fact, they're looking for as many as 60 to 80 people to pitch in to help fill the bags, which are being used by residents to try and slow down the flooding waters of Lake Ontario.
This as levels in the lake and in the St. Lawrence River are expected to keep rising through the next couple of weeks.
Up in St. Lawrence County, state officials will be in Ogdensburg today to help residents along the St. Lawrence River looking to file insurance claims.
It's in response to dealing with damage created by rising waters.
The command center will be at the Dobisky Center in between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Anyone who can't make it today is encouraged to call 1-800-339-1759.
