The future of the connector road in the Stateway Plaza in Watertown was a main focus during a meeting at City Hall.
Members of the community impacted by the project, like employees with Jefferson Rehabilitation Center, had a chance to ask questions about the potential plans.
City Council is currently considering three options to upgrade the section of pavement now known as Western Blvd. With lawmakers favoring the plan that calls for installing a round-about at the intersection of Gaffney Drive and Commerce Park Drive--similar to what's near Thompson Park.
According to the Watertown Daily Times, the main new road will likely have a turning lane along with a "10-foot wide asphalt path" for bikes and pedestrians to use included.
The $6.5 million project is expected to be funded through state and federal grants, with construction starting next year.
