Volunteers needed to help piece together new Thompson Park playground

It takes a village to help install a new playground. That's what officials in the city of Watertown are hoping, as they are asking for volunteers to pitch in to set up the new equipment at Thompson Park.

People behind the project tell us they're hoping for hundreds of helpers to show up both today and tomorrow, mostly likely to move smaller pieces and maybe even help with mulching.

If you have time, you're encouraged to show up at the playground between 4 and 7 p.m. today and 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

The new nearly $400,000 playground is expected to open for the public by next weekend.
