Despite its credit rating being lowered and having to borrow $2 million, the city of Ogdensburg has decided to reinstate a program that was originally cut due to an ongoing budget crunch.

The Watertown Daily Times reports that City Council voted 4-3 to bring back debris and brush pick-up on a rotating scheduled.

Lawmakers said they voted for the service after the community spoke up about it being eliminated, a move made to saved the cash-strapped city potentially $40,000.

Previously, Ogdensburg's City Manager said other changes and potential cuts would have to be made to pay for the debris pick-up.
