Should the village of Harrisville stay or should it go?
That's the question residents there are facing, as officials presented a study showing the potential impact of the village dissolving into the town of Diana.
The village and the Development Authority of the North Country held the first of two public meetings this week.
Dissolution would eliminate village taxes and allign with New York's push for local government corporation. However, town taxes would likely rise as a result of the change.
Officials tell 7 News they are aiming for a public vote on the matter this December.
