A meat processing plant could be in the works for outer Watertown.

Developer Mike Lundy is, according to 7 News, in the process of purchasing 150 acres near the campus of Jefferson-Lewis BOCES off of Route 3.

Lundy previously wanted to help bring a meat processing plant to the Jefferson County Corporate Park. Car Freshner and others objected, so Lundy now wants to create an agriculture and business friendly area off Route 3--one that could include the processing plant.

The deal to buy the land hasn't been finalized, but that could be completed by the first portion of next year.
