With police seemingly busting more and more meth labs and drug operations, help for law enforcement is on the way.
State Senator Patty Ritchie says she secured $27,000 to go to the Jefferson County Drug Task Force.
A press release from Ritchie's office stated that many of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force vehicles have between 100,000 and 200,000 miles on them. The funding will help "upgrade" the Task Force's vehicle fleet.
Senator Ritchie also announced another $6,000 earmarked for new equipment for the Theresa Volunteer Fire Department.
