The populatuion of elk at the zoo in Watertown has tripled within the last month.
That's because a couple of adult females and their two calves have moved into the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park. Officials plan on holding a contest soon to allow for the community to name the offspring.
All four newbies to the zoo join a mother and son who also just recently were brought in.
The new elk are apparently getting a long well together and they can be seen in their exhibits during regular zoo hours.
