It would take over a century to repair all of Watertown's sidewalks.
That's what a new report from city engineer Justin Wood concluded recently. Wood told 7 News he wants to speed the process up by either having residents cover the work, using more city employees, or by hiring outside contractors.
Wood said if Watertown wants to get serious about improving the over 130 miles of sidewalks, then "we're going to have to commit more resources."
Currently, it takes about a year to repair just about one mile of the walks.
