Some big changes could be coming to Watertown's Public Square in the near future.
According to the Watertown Daily Times, renovations on the former Berow and Monroe shoe store off Court Street could eventually lead to the creation of a cafe, grocery store combination. The building is currently being renovated and its owner says a non-profit is looking to set up a business that would sell locally grown products.
Elsewhere, developer Brian Murray told the Times that he is working with a "tenant" to take over the former Subway shop that closed back in the summer.
Murray also owns Top of the Square, which formerly housed a restaurant, and says there is "strong interest" in the building from multiple tenants.
