"This campaign has gotten very ugly," those the words of Watertown City Council member and candidate Teresa Macaluso.
The incumbent is facing a challenge from three others, all of whom finished better than her in last month's primary.
The latest campaign issue centers on the ongoing battle with the fire department; an awards ceremony at the Massey Street fire hall had to be cancelled due to a fire in the city last Thursday.
Word got out that Macaluso was mad the event was postponed; the fire union even taking to social media to target her alleged behavior.
But Macaluso tells 7 News that she understood why it was off and was not upset, but thought it "disrespectful" the ceremony was cancelled and was not told about it.
The union tweeted out its reaction with the hashtag "VoteHerOut."
