Residents will get a chance to hear an update tonight on the potential dissolution of the village of Morristown.
Officials along with the Development Authority of the North Country have been researching dissolving the village since last Febraury.
According to the Watertown Daily Times, residents would see a tax savings about $9.50 for $1,000 of assessed value. With town residents seeing an increase of about 30 cents per $1,000.
The study on dissolution, which has been broken down into three parts, is expected to be completed in January.
Tonight's meeting is slated to begin at 6 p.m. at the Morristown Fire Hall.
