Should an inmate who might have less than a month to live be allowed to spend his last days at home? The wife of convict Vincent Pratt is fighting for his early release.
She told 7 News her husband has terminal cancer and likely won't make it to July, when he's scheduled to be released.
The 54-year-old Pratt, who was in St. Lawrence County jail but is now in a state-controlled hospital, has been convicted on drug and weapons charges and was sent away after violating parole.
Pratt reportedly doesn't qualify for health-related release programs, so his wife continues to send letters, emails and to make calls on his behalf.
WWNY 7 News reprots there might be confusion over whether the state or St. Lawrence County has the proper authority to grant Pratt his release.
