A couple of old buildings in downtown Watertown have brand-new makeovers.
The Empsall and Brighton buildings on Court Street just off Public Square had ribbon cuttings Thursday. Both historic spots were renovated over the last year at a cost of about $7 million.
The two buildings now have low-income apartments for rent, along with commericial spaces available for lease.
In total, the Empsalls Building had eight apartments installed, and Brighton upgrading 36 existing units.
Officials told 7 News, the goal is to have the vacant apartments filled in the next couple of weeks, with the commericial areas taken within the next year.
