Governor Andrew Cuomo has his sights set on gun rights of anyone convicted of a domestic violence crime.
Cuomo announced his plan Wednesday, which would take firearms from someone convicted of all types of domestic violence crimes, misdemeanor convictions included.
It's already illegal for New Yorkers convicted of felonies related to domestic violence to own guns, but Cuomo is looking to beef up the law. This as the Empire State already has some of the strictest gun restrictions on the books.
The Democratic governor is aiming to include this proposal into his upcoming State of the State address next month.
