Watertown City Council prepared to give DPAO break on bill for concerts at fairgrounds ice arena

Officials and lawmakers are attempting to hammer out a compromise when it comes to holding concerts in the city of Watertown.

The Disabled Persons Action Organization asked City Council to renegotiate the price of renting out the Faigrounds Ice Arena.
The not-for-profit DPAO has held fundraising concerts with big musical acts at the fairgrounds for decades, but a spike in cost and a rise in competition has made putting the shows on more difficult.
Lawmakers decided to review the prices and potential contract options which would theoretically give the DPAO a financial break and allow for the Summer Concert Series in Watertown for the forseable future.
