No Immediate Changes To Public Square Planned

Watertown's Public Square is not changing anytime soon.

7 News reported that Lisa Nagle, a city consultant for the downtown project, says any changes to traffic flow and the overall look of Public Square will be left out of the $10 million project simply because the square isn't ready. The committee does want to keep changes to Public Square on the agenda if other ways to pay for it can be found. But for now, it will stay the way it is. In terms of the timeline for downtown's revitalization, the public has a chance to vote on 50 proposed projects during an open house on February 7. The planning committee will then consider what projects move forward and what ones don't.
