The flu season in New York is getting worse.
The state health department released the latest numbers which show a 50-percent jump in confirmed flu cases from the previous week. Once again, Central New York has the highest flu rates in the state.
A new Canadian study shows the vaccine is just 17 percent effective against the most dominant flu strain but the CDC says you should still get vaccinated because if you do get sick, the symptoms won't be as severe.
