Pennsylvania man accused of 'SWI' after crashing his sled in Lewis County

Criminal charges have been filed against a Pennsylvania man following a snowmobile accident in Lewis County.

According to sheriff's deputies, 34-year-old Christopher Regula went off a trail and collided "head-on into a tree" at about 2:35 last Friday afternoon in the town of West Turin.
 
Regula was thrown from his sled and was eventually transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
 
Police determined Regula was intoxicated at the time of the incident and have subsequently charged him with snowmobiling while intoxicated, imprudent speed and failure to provide proof of insurance.
 
More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
