On snow-covered roads throughout the area, it can feel like hit-or-miss when it comes to getting past a snow plow.
The massive machiens typically have wings extended to cover as much road surface as possible, sometime jutting into the opposite lane.
Andy Leonard told 7 News last month his newly restored BMW came into contact with a plow's wing on County Route 165 in the town of Watertown. The vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident.
Leonard says he is facing an uphill battle because he didn't have collision insurance and because snow plows are among a group of vehicles that are exempt from certain traffic laws.
Meaning, Leonard is likely on the hook to foot the entire repair bill out of his pocket.
