A major expansion for a local grocery store has cleared another hurdle.
After receiving the green light from the Jefferson County Planning Board, an expansion project for Aldi in Watertown was approved by the City Planning Board.
The regional chain is attempting a 2,845-square-foot expansion to its Arsenal Street store, as well as plans to reconfigure its parking lot and signage.
City Council is expected to sign off on the project later this month.
Work on Aldi, according to the Watertown Daily Times, is expected to begin in August and have it completed at some point next winter.
