Will the train bridge over West Main Street in Watertown be repaired or revamped?
It's a question being asked after pieces of concrete fell from the overpass Tuesday afternoon, causing officials to close the area off to traffic entering the city.
The bridge was eventually deemed safe for trains to traverse, but east-bound traffic underneath continues to be re-routed to Vanduzee Street.
CSX Railway, which controls our area's train tracks, is going to handle patching up the rough areas, but Jefferson County legislator Anthony Doldo told 7 News he wants the company to be "proactive."
Doldo labeled the bridge "embarrassing," and is calling on CSX to do more work to make it safer and to simply make it look better.
The east-bound lane is expected to reopen at some point in the next day or two.
